About the Journal
Nowadays, the formation of a highly qualified specialist in the sphere of political analysis is impossible without an objective and well-argued scientific journal. A few years ago, in Chernivtsi was created such a journal and today it continues its intellectual life. This is our "Mediaforum", initiated by the staff of the Chair.
In the conditions of reforming the educational sphere and acquiring competence traits by all domestic humanitarian sciences, we set several basic goals that will help to form a specialist in the sphere of information issues of the XXI century:
- To acquaint the reader with current foreign political and communicative practices that promote the integration of Ukrainian society into the modern European community.
- To develop an adequate understanding of the condition and available resources of Ukraine, which is trying to get rid of stereotypes and approaches of the past and help to understand and adapt the fundamental liberal values.
- To continue the formation of the basis of critical thinking, which are peculiar to a free responsible individual who should become a member of civil society and the law state.
- To promote the formation of a modern information society, where the openness of the Network is combined with modern management practices capable of communicating more adequately, and the ethics and responsibility of the blooming blogosphere as much as possible.
And although Pierre Bourdieu once said that public opinion doesn’t exist; we will still try to influence the opinion of interested readers not aggressively. Ultimately, we hope that the scientific achievements of the authors of the Mediaforum will help to reveal the political potential of, so to speak, regional (and not only) expert opinion. We think that materials devoted to political processes in the neighboring countries of Central and Eastern Europe, especially in the sphere of political and media communications will take a significant place on the pages of the journal. At the same time, we will try to avoid intellectual fuss, which is usually accompanied by inadequacy of conclusions and forecasts. We invite all interested authors who have something to say in the field of political forecasting and communication.
