Peer review process
The Editorial Board of the journal 'Germanic Philology. Journal of Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University' ensures the mandatory peer review of all submitted manuscripts in compliance with international academic integrity standards and the recommendations of COPE, WAME, and DORA. The journal employs a double-blind peer review model, where the identities of both the author and the reviewer are concealed from each other to guarantee an objective and impartial evaluation.
Selection Criteria and Evaluation Stages: Reviewers are selected from leading experts in the relevant scientific field who possess a proven track record of research publications and have no conflict of interest with the authors or their institutions. Following a successful initial screening for formal and technical compliance, the manuscript is assigned to at least two independent reviewers. The experts evaluate the scientific novelty, methodological rigor, logical structure of the argument, the validity of the conclusions, and adherence to ethical standards.
Decision Making and Timelines: Based on the peer review reports, the Editorial Board makes a final decision to accept the manuscript, request revisions, or reject it.
The standard timeline for the process is as follows:
initial review — up to 15 calendar days;
author revisions — 10 calendar days;
final editorial decision — within 10 calendar days after receiving the reports. In the event of conflicting evaluations or the need for specialized expertise.
The Editorial Board reserves the right to involve additional reviewers to maintain the high scientific quality of the publication.
