Copyright and licensing

The Editorial Board of the journal 'Germanic Philology. Journal of Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University'  ensures the transparent and legal use of published materials in accordance with the Law of Ukraine on Copyright and Related Rights and international Open Access standards. Under the journal’s policy, authors retain the copyright to their work while granting the Editorial Board a non-exclusive license to publish and distribute the material in both printed and electronic formats. Authors reserve the right to further utilize their work in subsequent research, teaching, and other publications, provided that the original publication in this journal is formally acknowledged.

All articles are published under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license. This license permits users to freely copy, distribute, transmit, and adapt the work (including for commercial purposes), provided that appropriate credit is given to the original author(s) and the source is properly cited. The use of materials must not infringe upon the moral rights of the authors, specifically the right to attribution and the integrity of the content. Any significant commercial reuse (e.g., inclusion in commercial textbooks or anthologies) requires prior written permission from both the author and the Editorial Board.

The journal’s licensing policy aligns with the recommendations of the Open Access Scholarly Publishers Association (OASPA) and the Open Science principles advocated by UNESCO and the European Commission. The specific license type and terms of use are clearly indicated in every published article and on the journal's official website. This model guarantees unrestricted access to scientific outputs for the global research community, educators, and students, thereby fostering transparency in the publication process while safeguarding the intellectual property of the authors.
