Founder of the journal: Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University. Established in 2009.
The publication is included in the List of Scientific Professional Publications of Ukraine (Category B) (Order No. 928 dated June 11, 2026) within the cluster "Biology, Biotechnology, Medicine and Rehabilitation", in the specialties Biology and Biochemistry and Biotechnology and Bioengineering.
Publication frequency: three issues per year.
Aims and Scope
The journal “Scientific Herald of Chernivtsi University. Biology (Biological Systems)” publishes research results on current issues in biological science, including biochemistry, biotechnology, molecular biology and genetics, microbiology, ecology, botany and zoology, as well as biota conservation and the protection and reproduction of biological resources.
The aim of the journal is to provide a platform for the publication and exchange of scientific results in the field of biological sciences, to stimulate the development of both fundamental and applied research by scientific teams, and to highlight current issues related to the functioning of biological systems, biodiversity conservation, and the effective management of natural resources.
Open Access Policy
The journal “Scientific Herald of Chernivtsi University. Biology (Biological Systems)” follows an immediate open access (free of charge for both the author and the user) to all articles and issues of the publication, supporting the principles of free dissemination of scientific information and global exchange of knowledge for the sake of general social progress.
Publication Fees
There are no forms of payment (fees) for processing, reviewing, or publishing articles for all authors, including those seeking third-level higher education. Article publication is free of charge.
