Complaints and Appeals
During the consideration of complaints and appeals related to violations of academic integrity and publication ethics, the journal’s editorial office is guided by the relevant established COPE standards and guidelines.
In the event of grounds for complaints or appeals, authors should send them to the journal’s email address: vb@chnu.edu.ua
Procedure for handling complaints and appeals
In the event that complaints and/or appeals against editorial decisions are received, the following procedure is applied:
Each complaint or appeal is initially reviewed by the Editor-in-Chief of the journal and/or the responsible editor who was directly involved in the editorial process.
The Editor-in-Chief involves two members of the editorial board with relevant expertise in the review process. They help to objectively assess the situation, resolve disputed issues, and ensure correct application of the journal’s editorial policy and publication ethics rules.
During the consideration of complaints and/or appeals, the principles of mutual respect must be observed, all parties must be given the opportunity to express their position, participants must be properly informed, and efforts should be made to resolve disputes based on compromise and mutual understanding.
In an appeal, the author must provide detailed and well-reasoned responses to the reviewers’ comments. After considering the arguments of all parties, the Editor-in-Chief makes a decision to either reject or accept the appeal and informs the applicant with an appropriate explanation. Such decisions are final, and new submissions are given higher priority than appeals.
